Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien inbjuder ansökningar om stipendier ur Stiftelsen P E Lindahls fond. Dessa stöder vetenskapliga studier eller fortsatt praktisk utbildning inom de humanistiska, medicinska och naturvetenskapliga ämnen inom eller utom Sverige. Behöriga att söka måste ha avlagt doktorsexamen i Sverige eller vara behöriga att antagas till forskarutbildning inom någon av de filosofiska eller medicinska fakulteterna. Dessutom får sökande inte inneha tjänst hos stat eller kommun eller i egenskap av lärare vara anställd vid högskola eller universitet. Prioritet ges till nydisputerade forskare. Sex stipendier värda SEK 100,000 vardera finns för utdelning.

Behöriga att söka är doktorander och forskare som disputerat, där prioritet ges till de som disputerat de senaste fem åren.

Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien utlyser medel ur stiftelsen Torsten Amundsons fond. Bidrag utdelas för studier över homosexualiteten, dess uppkomst och förklaring, och upplysningsarbete för hävande av fördomar och oriktiga uppfattningar beträffande densamma. Bidrag beviljas i första hand för studier i Sverige, Tyskland, England och USA. Den totala budgeten är SEK 600,000.

Brain prize – Lundbeck Foundation

The Lundbeck Foundation invites nominations for the brain prize. This recognises highly original and influential advances in research on the nervous system, covering all aspects from fundamental studies to research related to understanding and treatment of diseases of the brain and other parts of the nervous system. The intention of the prize is to raise the visibility of neuroscience and to be a stimulus to this field of research. More than one individual may receive the prize, if several researchers have contributed significantly to the achievement. Nominees may be of any nationality and be working in any part of the world. The prize is worth €1 million.

The Baillet Latour Health Prize – Theme for 2018: Cancer

This personal award is intended to recognize outstanding scientific achievements in biomedical research for the benefit of human health and to encourage the laureate in the pursuit of his/her career. The Prize is open to scientists of all nationalities who have not received an equivalent Prize for their personal use. Exceptionally, the Prize may be shared between two persons who have collaborated over a long period. The laureate will be selected by an international Jury in February 2018.

The European Society for Paediatric Research invites applications for its postdoc research grants. These support a research project for established researchers in all fields related to paediatrics.

FEBS/EMBO women in science award - Federation of European Biochemical Societies

The Federation of European Biochemical Societies, in collaboration with the European Molecular Biology Organization, invites nominations for the women in science award. This recognises a major contribution made by a female scientist to life sciences in the last five years. The winner will be honoured at the annual FEBS Congress, where she will receive a prize of €10,000 and present a special plenary lecture.

NIH - HIV Drug Resistance: Genotype-Phenotype-Outcome Correlations (R01, R21)

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to support studies that will evaluate HIV drug resistance and its relationship to treatment success. Applications are sought proposing studies of genotype/phenotype correlations in diverse subtypes, the relationship between minority variants and treatment outcomes and on the reasons for the discordance between genotype and treatment success or failure. Laboratory evaluations of samples with clinical correlates in patients on recommended regimens are encouraged.

Susan G Komen for the Cure invites applications for its career catalyst research grants for new treatments for drug-resistant breast cancers. These support studies on new treatments for estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer and triple-negative breast cancer that have developed resistance to standard therapy, and which will lead to a reduction in breast cancer deaths by 2026. Research grants -- National Ataxia Foundation, US

The National Ataxia Foundation invites applications for its research grants. These support science relevant to hereditary and sporadic types of ataxia in both basic and translational research. Grants are generally worth up to USD 15,000 over one year but promising proposals may receive up to USD 30,000.

The purpose of this grant is to encourage young clinical and scientific investigators to pursue a career in the field of ataxia research. Each recipient will receive a one-year award of between US$35,000 and US$50,000. The award will be made to the sponsoring institution and will be used as salary support or for direct research expenses.

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) plans to award $20.5 million in FY 2016 as part of the Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Awards program. These support projects that encourage active integration of patients, caregivers, clinicians, and other healthcare stakeholders as integral members of the patient-centered outcomes and clinical effectiveness research enterprise.
