An excellent workplace
Passion and excellence are beacons that have guided work at Karolinska Institutet ever since Karl XIII founded the University in 1810.
Thousands of persons have been educated here since then and a number of discoveries have been made at Karolinska Institutet that have changed the world. Five of the eight Swedes who have been awarded a Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine to date come from Karolinska Institutet.
Locations all over Stockholm
Academic and commercial interests work side by side at KI. Karolinska Institutet's work is divided between the campuses in Solna and Huddinge. Several departments are also located at the major hospitals with the county: Karolinska University Hospital, Solna and Danderyd Hospitals in the north, and Karolinska University Hospital, Huddinge and Södersjukhuset in the south.
Local and global cooperation
Developing networks that lead to fruitful cooperation with other researchers, with other universities, with industry and health care is an obvious cornerstone of the philosophy that characterizes a modern university such as KI. There is major international exchange in research and education at KI. And there are visiting researchers and students from all over the world.
An attractive workplace
Work at KI is permeated by professionalism, equal terms and conditions, and an ethical approach. KI is a creative and stimulating environment that makes use of everyone's talents, experiences and resources. This is the basis for the high quality of both education and research.
