PhD Programme in Medical Bioinformatics
The PhD Programme in Medical Bioinformatics was initiated at the Center for Medical Innovations (later Strategy and Development Office and now Corporate Alliances) with means obtained from the Knowledge Foundation. Every PhD project is financed to 50% by Karolinska Institutet and to 50% by participating companies or hospitals.
The PhD Programme has 31 PhD students whereof eight have succesfully defended their thesis (March 2007). It is a national programme with students from Umeå to Lund. 18 projects are in collaboration with biotech and pharmaceutical companies and 13 projects are in collaboration with different hospitals.
