STINT Network

from left to right: Gunnar Schulte, Alexandra Schambony, Vitezslav Bryja. Meeting at Karolinska Institutet, September 2008.

The STINT network is funded by STINT Institutional Grants for Younger Researchers. Collaboration takes place between the Schulte lab, and the laboratories of Dr. Vitezslav Bryja, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic and Dr. Alexandra Schambony, University of Erlangen, Germany. The focus is WNT/Frizzled signaling and the role of intracellular scaffolding for signal transduction.

STINT network meeting in Stockholm, April 16-17, 2009

The three research teams of the network will meet in Stockholm in order to discuss current and future projects and personnel exchange.

Venue: The Dept Physiology & Pharmacology at KI Solna

Invited external speaker: Prof Tommy Andersson, Lund University, Sweden (the lecture will be announced and is open to the public - limited space!)

STINT at KI's Grants Office - February 2009

STINT invited Gunnar Schulte to an information meeting at Karolinska Institutet to present his ideas and experiences as a recipient of the STINT Institutional Grant for Younger Researchers. Gunnar Schulte's presentation is available as a PDF (link below).

European WNT2010 meeting as STINT network meeting

Participants of the WNT2010 meeting at KI

The WNT2010 meeting held the 27th - 30th of October 2010 at Karolinska Institutet serves as a STINT network meeting. It offers the network a perfect forum to communicate recent findings and exchange knowledge and experiences. All members of the Bryja, Schambony and Schulte laboratories participate actively in the meeting.

In addition to support from STINT, the meeting was financed with money from the the Scandinavian Physiological Society, Swedish Research Coucnil, the Wenner-Gren Foundations, EMBO Young Investigators, the Company of Biologists, Sektionen f läkemedelslära and Merck Serono

The guest editors Gunnar Schulte, Vitezslav Bryja and Alexandra Schambony have invited the participants of the WNT2010 meeting to submit original articles and reviews to Acta Physiologica to publish a special issue on the topic WNT signaling in Physiology & Disease. The special issue is planned to appear during summer 2011.

Publication originating from the STINT network

Collaboration between the three labs has led to a series of scientific articles with all three or two of the network partners as co-authors.
