Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics
At our department we carry out epidemiologic research within a wide range of areas. Our projects generally aim to increase the knowledge about the causes of diseases and spread towards clinical and genetic research as well as biostatistical methodology.
The foundation of our research is information collected through questionnaires, interviews, medical records, different types of registers and samples. The department has about 220 researchers, doctoral students, statisticians, programmers, data collectors, database administrators and administrative staff. The department is also host to KI Biobank and is responsible for the Swedish Twin Registry.
