Here you can find the rules for doctoral education at Karolinska Institutet and the general study plans for the doctoral level education in Medical Science.
Rules for doctoral education
Doctoral students registered before July 1st, 1998 are not required to have formally completed doctoral courses. Students registered after July 1st, 1998 in subjects other than "Medical Science" are to complete their education in accordance with the course requirements specified in the general study plan of the subject. Students admitted to subjects other than "Medical Science" are required to earn a minimum of 15 university credits (10 credits) before the half-time control.
Apart from the above the rules for doctoral education applies to all doctoral students at KI regardless of date for admission.

General study plan (appendix 2)
The doctoral student shall complete his course at doctoral level following the course requirements and specialisation specified in the general study plan for which he/she has been accepted.
General study plan in Medical science
There are three versions ot the general study plan in the subject of medical science depending on the date of admission:
Newly admitted students
Students admitted until 30/06/09
- Doctoral students admitted from 01/07/07 to 30/06/09 (Pdf file, 36 Kb)

Students admitted before March 1, 2006
Doctoral students admitted before March 1, 2006 (who have not changed to the subject medical science) can contact the administrator at their department to receive a copy of their general study plan.
