Exchange Studies at Karolinska Institutet

In order to be accepted as an exchange student at Karolinska Institutet, the applicant must be enrolled at a university that has a written exchange agreement with the study programme in question at Karolinska Institutet. Exchange students should be nominated by their home institution, but the final decision on admission will be made by KI.

The academic year 2009/2010

The Autumn Semester 2009 starts 31st of August, 2009 and ends 15th of January, 2010.

The Spring Semester 2010 starts 18th of January and ends 4th of June, 2010.

Language of instruction

Karolinska Institutet offers courses, research-oriented projects and clinical rotations in both English and Swedish. All courses are presented in the menu to the left.

In order to be admitted as an exchange student on modules which are offered in Swedish, students are required to have a very good command of Swedish or another Scandinavian language (Pass Tisus test or equivalent). Exchange students taking part in study modules offered in English are exempted from the requirements for proficiency in Swedish, but need to have a very good command of English (equivalent to a score of 550 in TOEFL).
