Entry requirements

Before you apply you need to check that you have the required academic qualifications and language skills. You must meet both the general and specific requirements in order to be eligible.

General entry requirements for Master Programmes

A Bachelor's Degree equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, (180 higher education credits) from an internationally recognized university. The university has to be listed in the latest edition of the International Handbook of Universities.

Specific entry requirements

To be eligible to a Master Programme or a course you also need to fulfill the specific entry requirements for the programme of your choice. The specific entry requirements vary depending on the field of study.

Make sure that your academic qualifications meet the specific entry requirements and that you submit all necessary documentation.

English language requirements

You need proficiency in the English language to be able to undertake studies that are taught and examined in English. Therefore you must enclose a language test or other documentation that certifies English language skills equivalent to English B at Swedish upper secondary school.

Proficiency in the English language can be documented by an internationally recognized test such as TOEFL or IELTS.

TOEFL

Minimum test results required:

Paperbased test: A total score of 550 and 4.0 in written test.
Computerbased test: A total score of 213 and 4.0 in essay writing.
Internetbased test: A total score of 79 and 17 in written test.

TOEFL Examinee Score Records are not accepted.

The TOEFL test must be sent directly from Educational Testing Service (ETS) to University Studies in Sweden. The institution code of University Studies in Sweden is SWEDEN 9520 and this must be stated.

IELTS (Academic modules)

Minimum test results required: An overall mark of 6.0 and no band less than 5.0. English proficiency tests are not required from all applicants, please read more about English Language Text Exemptions on www.studera.nu.
