Orthopaedics and Traumatology
Sari Ponzers research group in orthopaedics and traumatology focuses on osteoporosis related fractures and psychosocial factors affecting outcome after injuries. During the last years they have broadened their research area and have continually carried out clinical and epidemiological studies also on other types of injuries/diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
In collaboration with other research groups they have studied life-style related factors, such as nutrition and smoking, in relation to surgical treatment.
Clinical Education
Sari Ponzers research group in clinical education focuses on interprofessional education and on professional development. Starting and developing a clinical interprofessional training ward (IPTW) has been, and still is, one of the major interests.
