Course credits

PhD courses and other PhD activities attended elsewhere than at KI have to be transferred to your Ladok files according to the rules below.

The courses registered in the Ladok files must adhere to the individual study plan! Any revisions in the study plan could preferably be made at the yearly follow-up.

How to register course credits in LADOK/ How to get credits transferred

a. PhD courses taken at KI

Courses taken at KI are registered in LADOK by the departmental study administrator. Such a course taken BEFORE formal PhD registration should also be registered in LADOK. To get this done, please contact Marita Ward if the course was administrated by our department.

If the course was administrated by another department please contact their study administrator.

b. Courses taken at another university

Credit transfer can be granted for courses taken at another university. An application, a copy of the course certificate including a study plan and/or a schedule should be sent to Marita Ward. Andrej Weintraub approves the application.

The examination should have been performed within the last 5-year period.

c. International congresses

Regarding congresses, you have to have presented your project either orally or as a poster at the congress. Enclose a copy of the congress announcement + abstract with the application. Please note oral or poster presentation.

d. Seminar series, Journal clubs

Regarding seminar series/journal club, a certificate signed by the seminar organiser as well as a schedule must be enclosed. Attendance in at least 75% of the seminars is compulsory. The main supervisor should also sign the certificate.

e. Other

Regarding other "courses" such as e.g. education at a research laboratory at another university (real competence), a certificate from that university is needed for credit transfer. The certificate should indicate the character of the education, time period etc. and signed by the person in charge. Your main supervisor should also sign a copy of the certificate.
