The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research (Feinstein Institute) is the research branch of North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Science the establishment in the early 1950`s Biomedical Research has been a vital aspect of its two academic medical centers - North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Feinstein Institutes health care system includes 15 hospitals, four long-term care facilities, three trauma centers, six home health agencies and dozens of outpatient facilities. By the access to the entire system the institute bridges the distance between biomedical research and patient care. The Feinstein Institutes researchers collaborate with clinicians throughout the system which provides the knowledge to develop new therapies and new diagnostics.
Feinstein Institute currently contains more than 800 scientists and investigators conducting research with many different specialties.
Feinstein Institute and KI have cooperative training and research programs for doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows.
