Elin Larsson

Elin Larsson is a pharmacist, who in her master thesis studied different antiretroviral treatment (ART) programmes in one hospital in Uganda. She has experiences from work with the WHO and Ministry of Health in Uganda, related to the logistics of ARVs within the national ART programme. Her Phd project focus on pregnant womens access to HIV testing and prophylactic treatment for prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV in Uganda, and include both women and their spouses.

The PhD project uses both quantitative and qualitative research methods, and is linked to a health and demographic surveillance site. The PhD project is further set within the EU funded project ARVMAC, where Elin has also worked with access to PMTCT in Burkina Faso. Elin is supervised by: Anna Mia Ekström, Anna Thorson, Göran Tomson (also MMC, KI), and George Pariyo (Makerere University, Uganda/WHO, Geneva)
