An Exciting and Meaningful Career
Although I already had high expectations for the toxicology programme at KI when I applied, it ended up giving me much more than I expected. I was very impressed with the course contents and the lecturers´ level of expertise and commitment. The small class size was an excellent platform for learning and allowed for very important interactions with teachers and other students.
Above all, it was the opportunity to be able to continue on to an exciting and meaningful career after completing the programme that I found particularly motivating.
There are many different directions that you can develop as a toxicologist. You can specialise in anything from basic research to more applied work.
My Master's thesis became the basis for my current PhD project in the field of regulatory toxicology and risk assessment of endocrine disrupting compounds. Concern for possible health risks caused by the production and use of chemicals is growing and a lot of efforts and resources are needed to improve methods for testing and evaluating the toxicity of substances.
There is thus an ever-increasing need for toxicologists. If you want to work in a field where there is an opportunity to make important discoveries, improve human health and influence policy makers, I would highly recommend the Master's Programme in Toxicology to get you going in the right direction.
