The overarching aim of our activities in the field of global health is to have a high qualitative contribution through excellence in research, education and information with focus on poverty and inequity in Africa, Asia and Latin-America.
The senior and junior faculty is multidisciplinary and pursues research and education in collaboration with researchers from all over the world. Through our experiences and diverse collaborations with global partners and stakeholders in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa we are an important actor in the field of research and education at the Karolinska Institutet, recognized for its comprehension of global health issues.
We also have extensive collaboration exists within Karolinska Institutet and we are an active stakeholder in the Karolinska Institutets Centre for Global Health (KICGH).
To date, there are six research groups more directly involved in global health research but several other research groups at the department do have research activities in this area as well.
