Child and adolescent psychiatry

The research profile at the unit for child and adolescent psychiatry is to investigate children's normal and abnormal development and behaviour in the "borders" between medicine and behavioural sciences using multidisciplinary approaches.

The methods used are based on longitudinal prospective designs and "life history research". The impact of maturation and development on the development of psychopathology is of special interest.

The division is also responsible for the education of Karolinska Institutet medical students in child and adolescent pshyciatry (approx. 80-90 students every year).
