Doctoral student Almira Osmanovic Thunström has been awarded a scholarship to take part in this year's TEDMED2012 in USA. Almira Thunström is the only doctoral student from a Swedish university attending, and was selected as a promising young scientist who is engaged in the international public discourse on subjects related to medicine.

This years TEDMED is taking place from 10 to 13 April at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, from where it will be broadcast via Live Simulcasting to different locations around the USA. To access the seminars and debates, go to http://www.tedmed.com/home, where you will find further details.

The TEDMED conference gathers over 1 500 people involved in care, health and medicine. Participants include decision-makers in the private, public and civil society sectors and representatives of the world's foremost universities and research institutions. The aim of the conference is to stimulate dialogue between the best minds working in an international and diversified industry as a means to solving future global challenges. Discussions centre on new ideas, innovations, trends and technologies.
