Scholarships for language studies
Are you going on Erasmus exchange to or doing your Erasmus placement in a country in Europe where a less common language is spoken? If so, you can apply for a scholarship for language studies.
Students taking part in exchange studies or placement activities as part of the Erasmus programme can apply for intensive courses in less common languages and receive an additional scholarship on EUR 150 per course week. Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC) are arranged for three to six weeks during both sumemr and winter time.
The countries in question are: Belgium (Flemish/Dutch), Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (Basque, Catalan, Galician and Valencian), Turkey.
For more information on EILC see the European Commission website:

The EILCs are offered by higher education institutions or other organisations specialised in language training in the host country. Information on available EILCs is found on the European Commission website (see below). Note that the number of course places is limited. You do not have to take the course at the same university/university college at which you are accepted for exchange studies.
