Research
To tackle many of the problems that several infectious diseases impose, we need a better understanding of the human immune system and immune reactions towards pathogens in humans. Studying functional diversity of the human immune system, in particular dendritic cells (DC) and lymphocytes, is highly prioritized at the Center.
Research competence areas within CIM include:
- Viral immunology
- Microbial immunology
- Parasite immunology
- Hematology/Cancer
- Diabetes/Autoimmunity
- Immunotherapy/Vaccinology
- Immunogenetics/Genomics
- Structural biology
Below we categorize the research groups at the Center into these eight specific research competence areas. Many groups are active within several of the areas.
