What is KI ELN?
The ELN system was procured in 2009, and has been in use at KI since 2010 when the first groups joined the system.
ELN is a generic term for "Electronic Notebook" and is used by universities and companies worldwide. It replaces the logbook used by experimental scientists but is also a tool for clinical and epidemiological researchers to record and document their research data, the decisions made and the overall research process.
According to KI's guidelines and the handbook for research documentation, each researcher should document their research process; either on paper (traditional paper logbook) or via KI ELN.
