A decision has been taken to give KI’s International Strategy Committee a new mandate and to change its name to the Strategic Council for International Affairs. Likewise, the International Advisory Committee with representatives from the Departments is to change its name to the Reference Group for International Affairs. The decision also includes a more clearly defined mandate for the deputy vice-chancellor for international affairs, Maria Masucci.

Strategic Council for International Affairs

The Strategic Council for International Affairs comprises representatives of the university’s internal boards and the student unions, and is led by the deputy vice-chancellor for international affairs. Staff from the Faculty and International Relations Office, the Communications and Public Relations Office and the Research Support Office will also participate in its meetings.

Clearer mandate for deputy vice-chancellor

Besides coordinating KI’s overarching internationalisation strategy and leading the activities of the Strategic Council for International Affairs, the deputy vice-chancellor for international affairs will represent KI in its contacts with existing and prospective international partners and provide support to the academic coordinators.

The Reference Group for International Affairs

The Reference Group for International Affairs was established in 2016 on the initiative of Maria Masucci to tie together the internationalisation activities taking place at KI at central and departmental levels.
