Experimenting your career options, not hypothesising them
Yumeng Mao is a Senior Scientist in the Immuno-Oncology group at AstraZeneca (Cambridge, UK). He is working on early drug discovery projects to uncover small molecule compounds that potentiate immune-mediated tumour control. Yumeng started his training in tumour immunology as a project student at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA) and continued his doctoral work on suppressive myeloid cells with Prof Rolf Kiessling in the Department of Oncology-Pathology at KI.
In this seminar, he will share his current responsibilities as an industry scientist and career options after a scientific training at KI. In addition, he will discuss some of his experiences when exploring career options outside the research track, such as consultancy and IP law.Contact person: Kerstin Beckenius
