A number of Swedish foundations are financially supporting strategic research efforts that considerably strengthen entire research areas at KI, as well as contributing to individual projects and research careers. Approximately 16 per cent of KI's research funding comes from Swedish private foundations and organisations.

The Wallenberg Foundations

The Wallenberg Foundations, fronted by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW), are among the largest private research funders in Sweden. Last year, Wallenberg sponsored research at KI with almost SEK187 million.

The Erling-Persson Family Foundation

The Erling-Persson Family Foundation supports projects in science and research, tuitionand education, as well as development of children and young people.
