Global health is a very interdisciplinary field and spans many subjects and professions. Here you can find some useful links, networks and organizations that can be helpful when learning more about global health for your specific subject.


The Consortium of Universities for Global Health - an american organization of over 130 academic institutions and other organizations from around the world that are engaged in addressing global health challenges. CUGH was established in 2008 with  funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Rockefeller Foundation. Its mission is to build interdisciplinary collaborations between universities and other sectors to facilitate the sharing and implementation of knowledge to address global health challenges.

Some of the most useful tools include:

A discussion forum, educational modules and a list of resources including training modules in the form of online powerpoint slides, for topics such as infectious diseases, cardiovascular disease, health economics and health systems, but also:

Cielo Global Health Media a video production company in the US, has produced a television series, also available on their website, called Global Health Frontiers. The episodes are each about 20 minutes long and cover global health challenges from different countries, including issues such as malnutrition, maternal mortality, infectious diseases and NCD challenges like smoking.
