About me

Marcela Franco has a research background in the field of Tumor Biology, specialized on Tumor Angiogenesis, Hypoxia and Tumor Microenvironment. She has also participated in projects characterizing new investigational compounds targeting critical pathways for cancer.

Marcela obtained her PhD from the University of Buenos Aires and she did postdoctoral trainings at MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA) and at Sunnybrook Research Institute (Canada).

She has been part of Karolinska Institute since 2009, participating in research activities, managing and coordination. Marcela is currently working as Project Coordinator at Evren Alici’s group and as Scientific Coordinator for the Competence Center NextGenNK in collaboration with Hans-Gustaf Ljunggren.
