About me

I have a professional background in medicine, medical statistics and public health. Currently I am a lecturer in medical statistics and statistical consultant at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics. I am a course leader for PhD and MPH courses and involved in teaching basic epidemiology and Statistics 1 and statistics 2 for masters students and basic, intermediate and advanced statistical courses for PhD students. Since 2010 I have been involved as guest lecturer and visiting Associate professor in medical statistics in Riga Stradins University, Latvia.

Before joining Karolinska Institutet in October 2007, served as health manager and medical doctor in the Ministry of Health, Ethiopia and as Assistant professor in Public Health (Associate Professor, 1998) and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Addis Ababa University (AAU).

  • Developed and delivered intensive medical statistics course for more than 200 PhD students in Riga Stradins University, Latvia
