About me

  • I am a lecturer at the Study Programme in Nursing and received
my doctorate in Psychiatry from Karolinska Institutet in 2012.

Research

  • My research is focused on psychosocial consequences of cancer and HIV,
respectively, suicidality, shame, stigma, borderline personality disorder,
    post-stroke depression, and stress-related ill-health. I have previously been
involved in the development of a web-based program for fertility distress
after cancer, in co-creation with young adults who themselves have had
    cancer.
Current research includes a project on cognitive functioning after breast
cancer treatment, where we have adapted a web-based neuropsychological test
for use in Sweden and are collecting Swedish reference data to be able to use
the test in current and future studies on cognition in cancer and cancer
    treatment.

Teaching

  • My main subject areas of competence are within psychology, psychiatry and
scientific methods. I have been teaching in higher education regularly since
1999, mainly lecturing, at the study programmes in nursing, medicine and
psychology, respectively. Since 2012 I am involved in the education at
    Karolinska Institutet’s Nursing Programme.
I am responsible for the course Nursing in Mental Health and Psychiatry at
the campus and distance nursing programmes and I am also lecturing, leading
seminars, designing and examining written examinations, and conducting half
time assessments at clinical placements. I am also a supervisor and examiner
in the course Degree Project in Nursing at the Nursing Programme and the
    Specialist Nursing Programme.
