About me

  • I am a specialist in pediatric physical therapy at the department of physiotherapy at Karolinska University Hospital, Astrid Lindgren Children’s hospital, neonatology unit. I’m also a PhD and affiliated researcher at the Department of Women’s and Children’s health at the Karolinska Institutet. My thesis in 2014 was about development and evaluation of outcome measures for children with knee disorders. During the last 10 years my research focus is in the area of neonatal high-risk infants and early prediction of later impairments and early intervention, with a special interest in infants born extremely preterm.

Research

  • My major research interest and experience is about follow-up, screening and intervention within the group of neonatal high-risk infants as well as in the evaluation and development of assessment methods for children with different types of disabilities. I have an on-going research project with the title "Born extremely preterm – neurological, motor- and cognitive function in relation to brain development and early prediction of later function during mid school age".

Teaching

  • I teach at both basic and advanced level at the Karolinska Institutet. Every year I also organize and teach at the PhD course "Early Child Development: Extended Interactions Between Neural Networks, Body and Environment".

Certified tutor of the GM Trust, lecturing in the assessment method, Prechtl General Movement Assessment.
