About me

I am group leader at the Department of Biosciences and Nutrition at Karolinska Institutet. I work 50% as clinician in oncology at Karolinska University Hospital, Tema Cancer.

Research

My research centers around the role of non-cancer cells in liver metatases.
Interactions with non-cancerous cell in the tumor microenvironment modify tumor cell behaviour, such as proliferation and differentiation. Clinically,
the nature of these contacts impacts prognosis and can be used to predict treatment response.

With my research, I want to understand the intricate mechanisms of intercellular communication between tumor cells and non-tumor cells.
The main goals of our lab are to identify predictive and prognostic markers, and to contribute to the development of novel, microenvironment-based therapies.
