About me

I am a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Pia Steensland. Our aim is to identify potential novel treatments for alcohol use disorder using translational research. The compound (-)-OSU6162 seemed very promising as a potential medication based on its effects on alcohol-related behaviors. During my PhD I investigate the underlying neurochemical mechanisms of this compound and evaluate its potential as a treatment for eating disorders. Moreover, I study molecular changes in the brain induced by long-term alcohol drinking. Previously, I also researched on other psychiatric disorders including depression, Parkinson's Disorder and Schizophrenia. Although I find research, especially in psychiatry, highly interesting I am also open to new opportunities after my defence in 2017.
