The Division of Social work invites you to attend an international lecture about the ongoing development of Personal assistance in Japan.

We invite you to take part in a lecture about the ongoing development of Personal assistance in Japan. The 18th of September Dr. Suzuki will be able to present his ongoing research to fellow researchers at KI, other institutions and Universities.

In the presentation the following themes will be described and discussed; 

  •  History 
  •  National law regarding personal assistance
  •  City program of personal assistance based upon direct payment
  •  Result of recent research of this city program

Ryo Suzuki has a Ph.D. in Community and Social Welfare at Rikkyo University and works as an Associate professor at the University of the Ryukyus. His research area is 
Deinstitutionalization and Personal assistance of persons with intellectual disabilities in Canada, Sweden and Japan
