The health informatics students welcome staff and students at Karolinska Institutet to attend TEDMEDLive Karolinska Institutet - a whole day open-door distance conference session following the events taking place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

The event consists of two pre-recorded sessions (1 and 2) from previous conference days, due to the time difference to the conference location. The third session is shown live from the Kennedy Center in the US.


9:00 - 11:00 Session 1: Seeing with a Broader Lens

12:00 - 14:00 Session 2: How Can Big Data Become Real Wisdom?

We begin with a short live talk at Karolinska Institutet given by Mikael Berglund.

TEDMED is a partner conference to TED which gives doctors, surgeons, healthcare experts, medical researchers and people with a passion for health a place to share ideas worth spreading.

This year, the conference will gather over 1 800 people at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, involved in care, health and medicine. Participants include decision-makers in the private, public and civil society sectors and representatives of the world's foremost universities and research institutions.

The aim of the conference is to stimulate dialogue between the best minds working in an international and diversified industry as a means to solving future global challenges. Discussions centre on new ideas, innovations, trends and technologies.
