Lecture: Novel insights into cardioprotection and repair from models of exercise

2013-10-2515:00 Hillarp lecture hall, Retzius väg 8, Solna campus

Dr Anthony Rosenzweig, M.D., is the Director of Cardiovascular Research and Associate Chief of Cardiology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC).

Dr Rosenzweig's research focuses on the signaling mechanisms underlying the most common cardiovascular diseases including heart failure, cardiac ischemia, and atherosclerosis. Clinically, these diseases are a growing cause of morbidity and mortality throughout the world, and commonly co-exist. This clinical convergence may, in part, reflect intersecting signaling mechanisms that contribute to all these conditions through control of fundamental cellular processes including cell survival, inflammation, and metabolism.

Hosts: Jorge Ruas, Dept. of Physiology and Pharmacology and Pontus Boström, Dept. of Cell and Molecular Biology, Karolinska Institutet.
