Interrelations between arterial and venous thromboembolic diseases
John-Bjarne Hansen is is a clinical specialist and professor in hematology. He leads the K.G.Jebsen – Thrombosis Research and Expertise Center (TREC) which focus on inherited and non-inherited risk factors of venous thrombosis and to extend the understanding of the pathogenesis of venous thrombosis. He is the principal investigator of the Tromsø study, a North Norwegian population based cohort study that generated many recognized publications about epidemiology in venous thromboembolism.
John-Bjarne is assistant editor of Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.

Novel insights into the (epi-)genetic epidemiology of arterial and venous thrombosis through the prism of high-throughput technologies
David-Alexandre Trégouët is a world leader in the development of statistical tools and research strategies for the analysis of high-dimensional biological data generated by high-throughput technologies and their application to cardiovascular disease with a focus on venous thromboembolism. He belongs to the statistical core group of several international projects including MORGAM, EURAGEDIC, CardioGenics and CARDomics.
David is a member of the editorial board of the Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, Human Genetics, Journal of Molecular Medicine and BMC Medical Genetics journals.
