Mikael Rydén group

The group focuses on the signalling mechanisms and secretory function of human adipose tissue in conditions of weight gain and loss.

We perform in vivo and in vitro studies of adipose tissue obtained from subjects with clinically relevant conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer cachexia and chronic kidney disease.

Using an array of methods and in collaboration with several international research groups as well as the Science for Life laboratory, we try to understand the primary and secondary factors that affect adipogenesis and insulin sensitivity.
