We congratulate our researcher Cesare Patrone on receiving his fourth grant from King Gustaf V and Queen Victoria's Foundation of Freemasons. The aim is to develop treatments for stroke patients with and without diabetes. In the picture Cesare and the foundation's patroness Princess Christina.

Our Head of Department professor Per Tornvall and his co-authors have outlined requirements for a diagnostic tool pinpointing the 6-8% of patients suffering myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries. Click here to read the full article.
Risk factors broken heart syndrome
Professor Per Tornvall and co-authors has in a large registry study provided confirmation that a broken heart is associated with other risk factors than those related to myocardial infarction. The results are published in The Journal of American College of Cardiology. Read more here.
