Dr Michael Azari, BASc(Chiro)(RMIT), BSc(Hon), PhD(Monash), FRCC(UK), Senior Research Fellow, School of Health & Biomedical Sciences, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia

Dr Michael Azari is a senior research fellow at the School of Health & Biomedical Sciences of RMIT University in Melbourne Australia. He is a clinical researcher in spinal pain. He was also a NHMRC postdoctoral fellow in neurobiology.
Dr Azari has expertise in chiropractic management of spinal pain and has carried out 3 pilot RCTs on spinal pain with colleagues in Australia, Spain, Denmark, and Canada. He is the author of 33 peer-reviewed publications and an inventor on an international patent. Michael has attracted over $3M in research funding to date and has a H-Index of 13.His current interests focus on treatment effectiveness research using cross-sectional, prospective cohort and RCT study designs. Currently, he is exploring chiropractic management of neck pain in the elderly by Australian chiropractors using the ACORN practitioner-based research network (with Australian and Swedish colleagues), and exploring the putative effects of spinal pain treatment on quality of sleep in older adults.
