Science without Borders - Undergraduate Options

Karolinska Institutet offers a range of Science without Borders programmes (course packages) which provide approved Ciência sem Fronteiras scholarship holders the opportunity to spend one year in Stockholm, Sweden to study over a period of two semesters.

Course packages

Karolinska Institutet offers for the acadmeic year 2015-2016 4 course packages in Biomedicine, Global Health and Public Health  for students with a scholarship from the Ciência sem Fronteiras programme. Each course package has its own specific requirements for admission.

Application period for 2015 is closed. Period 2016 will open in the beginnig of 2016

Other important dates:

  • 30 March 2015: Admission results are announced
  • 31 August 2015: Start of academic semester 

Orientation for international students

All international students are offered an introduction week as well as introduction days within their specific programme and general student orientation through the student union MF. Stay posted to the website for information about introduction week.




Brazilian students attending the course packages at Karolinska Institutet through the Ciência sem Fronteiras programme will be guaranteed accommodation in Stockholm through Karolinska Institutet Housing. Apply for accommodation as soon as possible after admission. Remember to indicate that you are a student within Ciência sem Fronteiras on your application.

Swedish course

Introduction week for international students starts with a basic introduction to the Swedish language. The course will then continue with optional evening classes once a week for the first six weeks of your first semester.
