Future Learning Environments
Future Learning Environments is a project that aims to improve students' learning environments on campus and in hospitals where KI has teaching.
In need of an upgrade
Spaces around teaching rooms and other places for students are renovated and refitted to create environments more conducive to socialising, group work and self-study. Lecture rooms and other study premises are also being improved.
Parts of the project are being carried out in association with the Stockholm County Council.
Designed interior concept
Two firms of architects, White and Tengbom, were initially invited to produce proposals for how the environments could be made more consistent with student needs, and present more vibrant student spaces. Tengbom was selected to implement its interior design concept and incorporate some ideas from White.
Renovations at the campuses and hospitals
The project is implemented at Campus Solna, Campus Huddinge, the Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge, Stockholm South General (Söder) and Danderyd hospital.
